Product Overview

ThreeBond 1212 is a one-component white liquid gasket (silicone sealant) based on silicone resin.. This product reacts and solidifies spontaneously upon contact with moisture in the air, without adding curing agents, accelerators or heating.. Curing begins about 40 minutes after application at 25°C, and the bonding force continues to increase as the reaction progresses

The white rubber-like elastomer formed after curing has excellent heat resistance, cold resistance and weather resistance, and maintains its original physical and mechanical properties under a wide temperature range.. The product adopts a 100% solvent-free formula, has extremely low linear shrinkage (only 0.3%), and has excellent thixotropic anti-sag properties (Non-sag). It performs well in high-gap sealing, facade and back coating construction.

  • Excellent temperature and pressure stability:The flange pressure resistance is stable at normal temperature, 80℃ and 150℃.100 kg/cm²; After being impacted by hot and cold cycles, the pressure resistance can reach110 kg/cm²

  • High toughness and resilience:The JIS hardness is 30 Shore A, the tensile strength reaches 20 kg/cm², and the elongation at break is 300%, which can effectively buffer the vibration and impact of the joint surface.

  • Excellent insulation and dielectric resistance:It has reliable electrical insulation properties and has good tolerance to common automotive and industrial oils such as water, antifreeze, engine oil and gear oil.

Typical application areas

  1. Mechanical large gap seal:Various industrial machinery flanges with large casting joint surfaces, large machining tolerances or obvious thermal deformation

  2. Engine and transmission:Leak-proof sealing for automobile and motorcycle oil pans, water pumps, timing gear covers, gearbox casings, etc.

  3. Vertical and special-shaped surface assembly:Due to its non-flowing properties, it is particularly suitable for coating installation on vertical joint surfaces, upward operations and lateral pipeline flanges.

  4. Industrial electrical insulation seals:Moisture-proof packaging of electrical components and waterproof and dust-proof sealing of instrument casings (complete electrical insulation performance reaches its best after 7 days of glue application)

Construction methods and usage precautions

  1. Glue nozzle opening:According to the glue line diameter requirements, cut a bevel at the corresponding scale position of the matching tip and install it.

  2. Clean the base surface:Before gluing, the oil, dust, rust and moisture on the joint surface must be completely wiped off and kept dry.

  3. Curing characteristics:This product relies on moisture in the air to solidify from the surface to the inside. When the adhesive layer is thicker, the curing cycle needs to be extended.; Adhesive application takes 20~30 minutes to tack dry, 15~16 hours for molding, full bonding strength takes 3 days

  4. Sealed storage:After use, unscrew the nozzle.Squeeze out the excess air from the nozzle and quickly tighten the cap., placed in a cool, dark and dry place at 10 ~ 25°C (the cured glue remaining in the nozzle is easy to pull out as a whole and does not affect reuse)
